BRUSSELS ATTITUDE IS VAGUE AND MISLEADING: STOP VIVISECTION OPTS OUT OF THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION CONFERENCE
Officially, the Commission conference is being organised to comply with "Stop Vivisection requests". However, by no means, does it respond to the objectives of the 1,173,131 European citizens supporting this successful Initiative. After months of negotiations, its program remains poor, vague, inadequate. It does not fully address the validity of animal models nor the necessity of making replacement methods mandatory by law. The full picture in the letter dated  June 29, 2016 (here below) that the official representatives of ECI "Stop Vivisection", Dr. André Ménache and Prof. Gianni Tamino sent to Dr. Schutte and Dr. Louhimies

KATRIN SCHUTTE (D-G Environment) and  SUSANNA LOUHIMIES (D-G Environment) response to Stop Vivisection letter dated June 9: WHILE IT IS TRUE THAT WE OFFER THIS PLATFORM IN RESPONSE TO YOUR ECI  [ …]  IT IS UNREALISTIC TO EXPECT THAT WE COULD GRANT THE ECI COMMITTEE TO SELECT 50% OF ALL SPEAKERS OR TALKING TIME.  Moreover: A session on “the necessity of making validated alternative methods mandatory by law” cannot be proposed by us GIVEN THAT THE USE OF VALIDATED ALTERNATIVES ALREADY IS A LEGAL OBLIGATION IN THE EU since 1.1.2013 when DIR2010/63/EU took effect (*** which of course is a patent lie as there is no legal obligation to use any validated alternative method across the EU, editor's note )

A RESPONSE TO THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION: PROPAGANDA INSTEAD OF TRUE FACTS
«Your official response to three years of democratically motivated campaigning involving tens of thousands of tireless activists across Europe and nearly 1,200,000 signatories came as a shocking revelation of the inability by the European Commission to analyse and appropriately address the fundamental raison d'être of Stop Vivisection».
